Some Things Never Change

I took a glimpse of my old life

I remembered the reasons why I changed and why

I chose to leave you behind.

I am sorry that you struggled,

I am sorry that you cannot see,

past your own desires and greed.

I know that you’re still searching for answers

Still hoping I will change, back into that perfect little girl,

That listens to what mummy says;

Now that I am older,

A mother of two.

There isn’t a day that goes by

That I don’t think of you.

But I know, nothing will ever change.

You will still be the same person

Still think I am the one to blame.

When all I wanted was, to be loved and appreciated and treated the same.
